Since 1981, Shoreline Arts Alliance has been encouraging young performing, visual, and literary artists through Scholarships in the Arts. How does Scholarships in the Arts help young artists grow?

Offers young artists the opportunity to present their work to professional artists for evaluation, thereby allowing young artists to learn about and continue creating work that aligns with professional and academic standards

Values and celebrates the artistic skills of each applicant, which instills a strong sense of community and confidence in each artist

Provides scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 to encourage further artistic study

Gives professional and academic mentorship to Scholarship Winners
Shoreline Arts Alliance’s commitment to enrich, encourage, educate, and engage is exemplified in our Internship and Junior Board programs for high school juniors and seniors. Why are these opportunities important?

Interns are given hands-on mentorship to learn valuable skills in arts administration such as event planning, project management, community outreach, and fund development

Junior Board Members are encouraged to take knowledge from their internship and spearhead independent projects such as executing a community event, designing social media campaigns, writing a grant, or creating marketing materials ​

Participants work on projects of their choosing and invest time into what they are passionate about whether that be graphic design, journalism, marketing, etc.

Mentorships with arts professionals and administrators are made available

Students are welcomed into a safe space where they can hone their leadership skills, in a field of their choosing, while also learning from peers who bring a diverse set of skills to the table
