Orchestra New England Presents Colonial Concert XLV

A New Haven holiday tradition returns with its 45th performance

November 18, 2024 – On November 30, 2024, Orchestra New England (O.N.E.) will kick off their 51st season with the 45th edition of their Colonial Concert, featuring powdered wigs, waistcoats, mob caps, and musical delights.

The Colonial Concert is truly one of a kind – a concert that takes attendees back to the 1780s and pays homage to the iconic history of New Haven. As always, this concert promises to be a night of fun for the whole family, and this year features music of Haydn, Bach, Handel, and Mozart.

The orchestra returns to perform in the historic United Church on the Green under their

founder and esteemed conductor James Sinclair. They have prepared the repertoire to perform as if for the first time. The concert features mezzo-soprano Eliana Barwinski singing several Mozart and Handel arias, and long-time principal flutist Adrianne Greenbaum performing a movement of Telemann’s flute concerto. This concert also features a brilliant choral finale with professional chorus Alchemy, prepared by Joseph D’Eugenio.

“The Colonial Concert is one of our favorite times each year,” said conductor James Sinclair, “It’s truly one of a kind, and our whole orchestra has a lot of fun with it each year. It’s such an exciting and different way to re-experience great music.”

Concertgoers can celebrate the start of the 51st season of O.N.E. and another iconic Colonial Concert. The concert is followed by a catered reception in Bradley Hall at the church.
