Guilford, CT — One of Guilford’s beloved retail establishments, M!X Design Store, was a shopping destination for contemporary accessories and home goods for over 16 years. The shop recently closed but the community has a chance to shop for Investment Design’s signature jewelry created by the original owners Wendy Walden and Betsy Gribble. A wide variety of pieces will be sold at the Guilford Art Center Shop during a special sales event from September 27 – October 5, 2024.
Additionally, the public is invited to meet Wendy and Betsy and shop the collection donated to the Center at a special reception at the Center on Saturday, September 28 from 1-3pm. The event is free and the community is invited to attend.
The contemporary jewelry for sale is from Wendy and Betsy’s line, Investment Design. Their work focuses on collages pieces to be worn: bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and pins are fashioned from antique and vintage pieces. All proceeds from the sale will benefit Guilford Art Center’s educational programs.
“We have a long history of involvement with the Guilford Art Center,” says Wendy. “We’ve sold our work in the shop and participated for many years in the Craft Expo event on the Guilford Green. All generations of my family have participated in classes and my husband even taught there. The Guilford Art Center is an important resource for our community, and we are thrilled to be able to support their mission with our jewelry sale.”
The Shop will have the jewelry available for sale from September 27 – October 5. All sales are final; there are no returns, refunds, credits or exchanges.
The Shop at Guilford Art Center is open 7 days a week; Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm.
