This has been quite a year for the East Haddam Stage Company! We had a lovely, if wet, summer season with William Gillette's comedy All the Comforts of Home on the outdoor stage at Gillette Castle State Park. October saw us inside the Castle with the New England premiere of an adapted version of William and James, A Ghost Story, by Gina Tracy. The production was presented in partnership with the Friends of Gillette Castle State Park. Now we are back for our 4th holiday season with a presentation of our audience immersive, site specific production of
A Christmas Carol
Based on Charles Dicken's novel, but set in Victorian era Middletown, CT, this one-act, 90-minute play is an adaptation by Justin Haigh. The glorious Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill Estate plays host.
13 actors portray 24 characters as YOU, the audience, follow Scrooge throughout the mansion, joining him on all of his adventures. From the darkness of his abode, to the festive Fezziwig party, to meeting Tiny Tim and ultimately facing his ghosts and finally redemption ~ you are there, up close and personal, in this intimate version of the famous holiday story.
