Future Choices
High School Visual Arts Competition
Celebrating its 40th anniversary season, Future Choices recognizes and celebrates the talent and passion of our region’s high school students.
Open to grades 9 -12, this competition and exhibition are adjudicated by a panel of fine arts professionals.
Students whose work is selected will have their pieces displayed in the Sill House Gallery at Lyme Academy gallery for three weeks. Categories include Ceramics, Drawing, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Prints, Sculpture, Digital Art, and Video. High schools are recognized for the efforts in keeping the arts a vibrant part of the curriculum.
Students must live in or attend school in one of the 24-designated Shoreline Arts Alliance towns.

Submission of Work

Submission Dates: February 21 - February 22, 2024, 2:30pm - 5:00pm. The link for the written portion of the application can be found here. The digital application form must be submitted before or on the same day work is dropped off at the gallery.

Submission Fee: $7 per piece. Maximum of three pieces per student per category. There is a link to pay in the application form, or a check can be brought in on the day of submission. Please view the full submission instructions here.

Exhibition: An exhibition will be hosted at the Sill House Gallery at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts from March 2-28, 2024. The gallery will be open Wednesdays & Thursdays, 3-6 PM and Saturdays & Sundays, noon - 4 PM.

Awards Reception: Saturday, March 23, 2024, 9 AM - 12 noon.
